the briefCharlotte wanted a simple, welcoming website to showcase her work and direct people to her new service offering. She is in a process of rebirth and relaunching her career as a doula, as she integrates her existing offering of writing and teaching yoga. The priority was to present her offers in a simplistic way that felt aligned to her and her audience over any flashy features. She wanted to aim for earthy tones and minimalism, evoking feelings of ritual, intentionality, spirituality, safety, and warmth for visitors.
The scopeDesign a website in a day that reflects Charlotte's core brand values of community, respect, dignity, beauty, rest, kindness, and freedom.
Opt for a highly minimalistic design, emphasizing clarity and cleanliness.
Select fonts, earth tones, and images that mirror these values.
Prioritize a clear and concise layout, with the main objectives being for her audience to explore her services and upcoming events, reach out via email, and schedule a discovery call.
how the day unfoldedUsing our Design Day model, Drea and Charlotte collaborated to achieve the following milestones:
Created a Pinterest mood board and explored inspiration sites together to establish a very simple branding direction.
Conducted a strategy meeting to discuss the site map, visual elements, and gather inspiration.
Defined a color palette of dark greens, mustard yellows, and beige for an earthy feel.
Fully designed the home page and three service pages, maintaining a minimalist top menu.
Omitted separate contact and about pages, integrating contact information into the footer for constant accessibility.
Incorporated Charlotte's bio into the home page to maintain a minimalist design.
Implemented bespoke elements with custom code, including smooth scrolling, anchor links, and image outlining with box-shadow.
The finaleCharlotte now has a new beautiful, straightforward, and clean website designed to attract her audience. Those seeking yoga, doula, or writing services can now easily reach out to her, book a call and subscribe to her mailing list.
