the brief

Kelly aimed to establish a strong online presence for her freelance writing business, targeting B2B SaaS and tech companies. She envisioned a one-page website that effectively showcased her portfolio, compellingly presented her work, and allowed new clients to easily understand her expertise and contact her. The overarching goal was to enhance business credibility and attract new clients through a polished and impactful website.

The scope

After discussing Kelly’s target audience—tech companies—and their needs before contacting and hiring her, we realized the importance of showcasing her portfolio.

Instead of just a few links on the home page, we created a comprehensive portfolio and a ghost-written portfolio (password-protected), in addition to the landing page, using the BLOG function on Squarespace.

Each portfolio piece was tagged and categorized for easy navigation, allowing visitors to find the most relevant examples of her work quickly.

Kelly's portfolio section was also prominently featured with a direct Call-to-Action (CTA) in the hero section for easy access as well as throughout the website.

We aligned with Kelly's professional ethos by designing clean layouts, intuitive navigation, and an appealing aesthetic. To enhance the website's branding, we incorporated animations and chose bold colors, adding an extra touch to the overall design.

We maintained a focus on simplicity by omitting separate About and Contact pages. Instead, we included a large contact form strategically placed at the bottom of every page to facilitate seamless client outreach and collaboration discussions.

The finale

Kelly now has a professional website to effectively showcase her freelance work, boost her online presence, and share her portfolio with potential clients. Her website highlights her expertise but also serves as a powerful tool for attracting new opportunities and collaborations.

Everything went super smooth, from our first chat figuring out what service is right for me to the Design Day! I’m really happy with the overall design and the little extras you did like the animation when scrolling the page and the way you presented the images. I appreciated the overall process before the Design Day too, with the Notion board. It was super nice collaborating with you :)
